Every year, the Caravan and Camping Industry Association, the peak industry body for NSW, hosts their Awards of Excellence event, which recognises businesses and individuals that excel in terms of service, innovation and best practice. CCIA President, Theo Whitmont said the Awards were particularly significant in 2019, which for the first time saw the number of domestic caravan, and camping holidays taken in NSW surpass 4.4 million trips.
“In a year in which the NSW Caravan and Camping industry performed exceptionally the Awards of Excellence have particular resonance. They not only acknowledge the outstanding performances of companies and individuals, but also reflect on the collective achievement of all areas of the industry in continuing to build and grow and innovate,” he said “We take great pride in this industry and never overlook the fact that its success is the result of many contributions over many years.”
The main award program selected 11 winners across 3 key categories: Holiday Parks, Trade, and Outstanding Contributions By Individual Employees. We’re proud to announce that in the Trade category, Cub was awarded the prize for Manufacturer of the Year for 2019.
Mr Whitmont added that the long-term efforts by members of the industry had prompted the CCIA Board to introduce new Awards in 2019 aimed at acknowledging the ‘innovators and builders’ who had helped shape the industry over decades. Cub was also a recipient of one of these new awards – The President’s Award.
“We introduced the ‘President Awards’ to honour outstanding industry brands and in this, the inaugural year there are three recipients; the North Star Holiday Resort which was one of the first holiday parks to lift the industry’s game in pioneering modern new facilities for families; Cub Campers which has led local development in the growing camper trailer sector and TRAKKA which has done so much to keep Australia to the fore in high end campervan and motorhome manufacturing,” he said.
