Weber Pizza Recipe

6 September 2018

Just because you’re on the road and your cooking facilities are limited, it doesn’t mean that you have to go without classic favourites like pizza. All you need are some minor improvisational skills, a Weber BBQ and this handy recipe that comes courtesy of The Great Escape – Australia.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • A pinch of cracked pepper, powdered garlic and Italian herbs
  • Tomato paste
  • Toppings of your choice

Directions:

  • Mix the yogurt, flour, pepper, garlic and herbs. Knead it until you have a good dough. If you find that the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour to the mixture. Use your judgment in terms of how much to add, but be careful to not add too much!

  • Flatten the dough into the desired shape. Remember that the flour is self raising, so if you like thin crust you want to make sure that take into account that it will get thicker as it cooks.
  • Place a double layer of foil on the trivet and preheat the Weber to between 150°C and 200°C (depending on how long you intend to cook it)
  • Once you have reached the desired temperature, open the lid and quickly place the dough onto the foil and close the lid before the heat can escape. Also ensure that the BBQ is out of the wind to keep the temperature constant.
  • Turn down the dial to ensure that you aren’t cooking the bottom.Precooked Pizza
  • Once the dough has cooked for a bit, it will be stiffer and easier to manage. Take it out of the Weber, spread the tomato paste on the base and add your toppings.

  • Place the pizza back into the Weber, once again checking to make sure that the temperature is correct.

  • Cook until it looks ready

And there you have it! Pizza on the go.
