The Camper Trailer Adventure List – Part 3

10 December 2018

It’s the end of 2018 and no doubt many of you have some adventures planned over the Summer period. If you’re still unsure about where you should go, take a look at some of our suggestions below:

Dawson’s Spring – NSW

Dawson’s Spring is located in Mount Kaputar National Park, which is often referred to as an “ecological island” due to the way it sits above the surrounding range. The camping ground itself is located just past the Mount Kaputar summit and provides easy access to some of the most spectacular 360° views you will ever come across. So spectacular, in fact, that on a clear day you’re able to see as much as one tenth of the entire state from this one spot.

Iga Warta – SA

If you’re the type of camper who likes to live off the land, Iga Warta in the Northern Flinders Ranges is the place for you. The name Iga Warta means ‘place of the native orange tree’ in Yura Ngawarla, the language of the native people of the area – the Adnyamathanha people. The traditional owners of the land offer tours featuring cave paintings and story sites as well as the opportunity to sample a selection of the edible plants in the area.

Ningaloo Station – WA

This suggestions comes from Dad 4X4 Adventures:

“Ningaloo Station is located 1200km north of Perth in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia. Providing wilderness and self-sufficient camping, Ningaloo Station has been one of our favorite stays on our travels throughout WA. After turning off the North West Coastal Highway and eventually driving 30km along a corrugated, limestone track (shaking your car and teeth to pieces) you visit the caretaker at the homestead and are given a key that will open the gate to your designated campsite. From the five campsite options, we chose to stay at Winderabandi Point, the most northern of the campsites at the Station.

Setting up camp on the white sand and only meters away from the crystal blue ocean, this is a camper’s paradise. Needing to be completely self sufficient with no power or water on the station you are thankful for the warm sun and solar panels to keep that trailer battery topped up and the drinks in the fridge cold.

With fishing, snorkeling, 4wding and the most incredible sunsets on your door step, you are never without things to do. Ningaloo Station is an affordable slice of paradise that every traveler should get to see.” – Brad Rayner, Dad 4X4 Adventures
