The Camper Trailer Adventure List – Part 4

3 January 2019

It’s the start of a new year, and although the holiday may be over for many, there’s still the Australia Day long weekend to look forward to. That means that there’s one last chance to hit the road for an adventure to kick off 2019 with a bang. If you’re looking for some ideas on where to go, we’ve got you covered.

Newnes Glow Worm Tunnel, NSW

Glow Worm Tunnel

As far as bugs go, worms generally aren’t particularly interesting attractions for a holiday destinations, but if you’ve never been to the Newnes Glow Worm Tunnel, you’ll want to make an exception. This old railway line hasn’t been in use since the fairly early 1900s, but the darkness of the tunnel makes this hiking trail a perfect habitat for the glow worms, which are really quite a spectacular sight to behold.

The pink lakes may be well-known attractions but if you’ve never had the chance to see them for yourself, visiting the Hutt Lagoon is definitely worthy of a bucket list entry. Depending on the conditions, the lagoon changes from pink to lilac, at times even bright red, and it’s recommended to visit at sunset to get the most out of your experience.

Fraser Island, QLD
