If you’re looking for an amazing camping trip in Western Australia, then you just cannot give Lynton Station a miss! This mid-north-western gem is a long-time favourite that should be on every camper’s hit list, here’s why…

Location, Location, Location

The mid-north-west has an awful lot to experience, and Lynton makes for the perfect base when you’re looking for a little adventure in WA! The notoriously beautiful Pink Lake is only 4Km away, with Port Gregory right there to head to after you’ve swum and gawked at it for however long you please! The Hutt River faces Lynton, giving you a stretch of coast to enjoy just a short drive or stroll across the Station. What’s the best thing about this beach? Pink sand! The magic from the Pink Lake creeps through and puts a charming tint on Lyton’s local beach. You’ll also find Kalbarri, Wagoe, Horrocks and Lucky Bay not too far off. The Brumby from Cub will give you all the freedom you need to do some seriously exciting trips off-road, you’ll see all the sights listed and more with this trailer on your team!

Natural Features

The view alone is enough to convince anyone to set up shop at Lynton Station for quite some time! With striking, wide-open space, lush trees, grassy chill-out spots and the rolling waves right out in front of you, you’d be forgiven for never wanting to leave. The surrounding nature does more for you than just look great, enjoy some mind-blowing fishing, walks and sights.

Facilities

Lynton might be a nature lover’s heaven, but that doesn’t mean you have to long for the creature comforts that make you feel human. In fact, quite the opposite. Lynton steps up to the plate with hot (yes, hot!) showers, flushing toilets, a camp kitchen, barbeques and even a fish cleaning area for you to prep your catch of the day at dinner time. You’ll find sufficient mobile reception and pretty much all vehicles are welcome.

All Furry Friends are Welcome

Oh, wow is this a big one! All campers who have a four-legged companion at home are very familiar with the struggle of trying to find a site that welcomes the whole family, even the members who have tails. At Lynton, you don’t have to give it a second thought!

Plenty of Space

Lynton Station earns itself a huge tick for offering campers as much space as they need to set up and get comfortable. Far too many campgrounds skimp you on the space front, and here you’ll have plenty of room for whichever trailer you choose to camp with!

Host Hospitality

This isn’t a very common plus as far as camping spots go, but that’s what makes Lynton so special! The Station’s host couple is attentive, friendly and accommodating, so you can rest easy knowing that you’ll be well taken care of if you need.

Affordability

Despite Lynton’s many impressive benefits, it still manages to make staying there incredibly affordable. Everyone should be able to enjoy camping, and it’s awesome locations like Lynton Station that make that possible!

Lynton’s History

First established in 1853, Lynton started life as a convict depot supplying labour to a nearby mine. After a few years, the mine was shut down and it became Lynton Station. This area is rife with culture, history and charming stores – lucky for you, it’s evident everywhere! Ask your hosts, chat to the locals and explore the Station to be enriched by more than just the scenery.

How to Get There

Lynton is on Port Gregory Road, about 5 hours out of Perth. Head via Indian Ocean Drive or Brand Highway towards the ocean in your car, it’s not a complicated drive at all.

A stint of Lynton Station camping is the best way to explore the mid-north-western area of Western Australia. Whether you’re a local or you’re new to the state, you’re guaranteed to have a ripper of time over at Lynton.
