camping with dogs

Camping is all about connecting with the great outdoors, experiencing adventure and spending some quality time with your loved ones. For a lot of us, those “loved ones” includes the presence of a very happy, very furry friend! Dogs really are part of the family, and they miss us when we’re away, so when you’re headed to nature for your next trip, why not bring the pooch along? The outdoors is the perfect place to get everyone involved, all you need to do is find a spot that accommodates them! Read on to discover the absolute best dog-friendly camping NSW has to offer…

Pimpara Lake Station…

Pimpara is out in Broken Hill, it’s perfect if you love wide open spaces, total tranquillity and that feeling of freedom that all campers are chasing. Head here if you love to watch a striking, almost emotional sunset with your best and fluffiest friend right there by your side.

Bundarra Lions Park…

This one is great if you were looking for a grassy, adventure-filled experience with your dog. Sadly, a lot of National Parks don’t tend to let dogs camp, but Bundarra is at the rescue! Enjoy a few essential amenities like toilets, water, rubbish bins and campfires whilst you and your animal friend take in the gorgeously green scenery.

Mystery Bay Campground…

Your coastal camping dream spot! Mystery Bay is perfect if you want to bring your canine to a beachside camping spot! You can swim, fish, hike and chill with your dog at this amazing combination of a dog-friendly beach and campground.

Delicate Campground…

Delicate Campground is great for dog lovers! This dog-friendly camping spot and beach is everything that you want in a class beach holiday. Secluded white sand, rolling waves and beautiful nature all stretched out in front of you!

Turon Gates…

If you’re looking for mountainous skylines, fresh rivers and amazing views from all angles to enjoy with your dog, the search ends here! Turron Gates is fully accommodating to dogs of all shapes and sizes, so bring the pooch along and get ready to have some amazing experiences including mountain biking and kayaking! This is a very remote option so if you two like the peace and quiet, it’s a great option.

Merry Beach Caravan Park…

Merry Beach lives within the Murramarang National Park, this one is great if you’re taking the whole family, your dog and your camper trailer along with you! The Traveller trailer is the perfect size for a small family and their four-legged friend! Set up for a perfect stay with essential amenities, campfires, beach, bush and everything in between. Just note that you can’t bring more than two dogs at once and they have to be on a lead when in the park.

Shoal Bay Holiday Park…

Shoal Bay is located right opposite an incredible beach, perfect for a camping trip with your dog but not your whole family. Pups are only allowed at Shoal Bay Holiday Park in the off-seasons, so no school holidays or long weekends. A potential plus? You’ll miss out on the crowds whilst your best friend has the time of their life!

Coachwood Camping Area…

Coachwood is where it’s at for a classic, riverside camping experience! Enjoy thick, lush regrown forest, pristine water and a whole lot of fun at this amazing location, all with your dog wagging away beside you.
These are just a handful of destinations to take your dog on your next camping trip. You and your pup will be having the trip of a lifetime, adventuring, exploring and relaxing out in Mother Nature! Woof!
