Cub Joins the Australian Made Campaign

13 October 2020

For over 50 years, we at Cub have been building trailers from the ground-up right here in Australia, using only the best Australian steel and canvas. We’re strong advocates of supporting local business and for many years, Cub has been a proud member of the Australian Made Camper Trailer Guild. The Guild’s mission is to ensure that all of its members not only commit to building their campers in Australia, using only Australian steel and canvas, but also adhere to strict quality audits and engineering compliance testing so that all campers are suited to withstand the harsh Australian conditions.

While we are very supportive of the Australian Manufactured Camper Trailer Guild and all of their work, we have decided to also extend our support to the Australian Made Campaign (AMCL) who have done tremendous work in supporting local business over the years. During the trying times we’re currently facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the AMCL have increased their efforts in driving consumers to support local business through media releases and nationwide ad campaigns, and as more Australians pledge to support local businesses, the recognisable logo of the AMCL is becoming a cornerstone of the decision process.

Although we’ve always made our campers right here in Australia, we’ve now officially joined the movement and we’re proud to announce that Cub Campers is a member of the Australian Made Campaign. As new trailers roll off the production line at our factory in North Rocks, NSW, the Australian Made and Owned logo will join the Australian Manufactured Camper Trailer Guild logo displayed on every Cub model and serve as a clear indication that Cub Campers is a proudly Australian Made and Owned company.

Cub owner and Managing Director, Shane Fagan, said, “We’ve always been a proudly Australian company and for us, supporting Australian manufacturing is more than just a tagline. We understand that you can save money by sourcing parts or labour from overseas, but we also know that you get what you pay for. We strongly believe that the quality of Australian materials is better suited to handle the harsh Australian conditions than their imported counterparts, and by committing to keeping our manufacturing on-shore we are supporting the Australian employment. These have always been our values and by joining the Australian Made Campaign, we can now use a logo that helps us to more effectively communicate these values to our customers.”

Almost all Australians (99%) are aware of the Australian Made logo, with the vast majority (84%) associating it with supporting local jobs and employment and over half with products that are of high quality (58%) and are produced using ethical labour (57%).
