In September 2022, we launched our first caravan – the Cub C16 – into the Australian market, backed by the Cub name and over 50 years of RV manufacturing experience. Although we’ve had a massively successful first step into a new territory with a luxury model, we knew that there was still a desire for a lightweight, quality Australian-made caravan capable of heading off-grid but without quite as many bells and whistles. We’ve listened to the feedback and we’re proud to introduce the L16 – the newest caravan in the Cub range.
The L16 is engineered for going off-grid and keeping you there for extended periods of time. With a tare of 1900kg, an ATM of 2500kg and a ball weight of 170kg, it’s the perfect caravan for couples and families looking to experience the off-grid lifestyle without needing to upgrade to an expensive tow vehicle.
The L16’s lightweight build coupled with a low centre of gravity and tapered body make it easy to take off the beaten track and set-up in the most remote campsites you can reach. The L16, while at a lighter weight, does not sacrifice in its capabilities to endure the toughest tracks in Australia and beyond for extended periods of time, with generous amounts of lithium battery power, water capacity and solar capability at your disposal.
The L16 is designed to provide more value in a lighter off-road caravan. While still being fitted with plenty of quality features, we’ve focused on producing a fully Australian-made lightweight off-road caravan that allows you to access all corners of this beautiful country at a surprisingly affordable price.
Included as standard is a king-sized pillow top mattress for maximum comfort. We’ve also integrated an interior 110L Dometic Coolmatic fridge to keep you stocked up with food and drinks for days. Furthermore, we’ve included a Fusion stereo with four speakers, two internally and two externally, allowing you to listen to your favourite tunes while cooling down inside or relaxing outside with a drink in hand under the incredibly large awning.
All your electrical needs are covered with a 150ah lithium battery that is charged by two 180W Redarc Monocrystalline solar panels, and there’s plenty of lighting to illuminate inside and outside the L16 once the sun goes down. The L16 is also equipped with a 100L Freshwater tank and a 100L Greywater tank. Also on the outside is a high-quality kitchen featuring a SMEV 3 burner stainless steel stove alongside a stainless-steel sink, all giving off a sleek yet robust look with the functionality expected of a well-made and thought-out kitchen.
We recently announced that based on community feedback, we have started offering 3 layout choices for the C16, and we’ll be offering these options for the L16 as well. The three layouts available are a Cub king bed option, a bunk bed option, and a twin bed option. Each option will also include hanging cupboard space as standard with an additional cupboard available for the twin bed layout.
Cub Campers is proud to completely design, manufacture and maintain the L16 in Australia, as with all our camper trailers and caravans. Built with exceptionally high-quality materials, including Australian Bluescope Steel and Australian-made composite panels, customers can be confident in the quality and relentless reliability that you’ve come to expect with every Cub Camper. Our reputation for delivering great products as well as our after-sales service is what gives people the peace of mind allowing them to kick back and relax knowing they are in capable hands and that their caravan is of high quality, dependable and durable materials – and the new L16 will continue that Cub Campers tradition.
The L16 will be officially displayed for the first time on the Cub stand at the Caravan, Camping & Holiday Supershow Rosehill from the 18th to the 23rd of April, 2023 and will be available for an introductory price of $89,990 for 3 months only, so don’t miss out!
